Sheriff Bill Rogers said in a video statement Tuesday that an internal investigation has been opened into the videotape of an alleged beating of a suspect by deputies Monday Deon Taplin, age 29, a convicted sex offender, led deputes and Chadbourn Police on a 90 mile per hour chase through the town from Dessie Road.
The man who shot at and threatened a repo truck driver will serve 84-113 months in prison. Ronald Allan Keaton was convicted March 12 in Columbus County Superior Court on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, armed robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime, according to a release from the District Attorney’s Office.
Kevin Musser faces three counts of first degree murder and other charges after allegedly stabbing three men in Clarkton Monday night. The Bladen Sheriff’s office reported that Musser came to the door of the home holding a handgun and wearing bloody clothes.
