Paul Rockenbach sworn in as Whiteville’s new Police Chief tonight at City Council. Rockenbach previously served with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and most recently with military intelligence. He was hired by the City of Whiteville last month but had to renew his North Carolina law enforcement certification.
Chadbourn Police working with the State Alcohol Law Enforcement Division broke up a conspiracy to steal alcohol from the Lumberton ABC Store for resale. More than 600 bottles of liquor, 335 grams of marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills were seized in a raid on a Huffham Street home.
If you’re heading into Bladen County, avoid White Plains Church Road. According to NCDOT, White Plains Church Road is closed around .2 miles South of Porter McKoy Road. The state is installing a new cross drain line. The road is expected to reopen by 5:00 p.m. on March 25.
