One man was charged and another told to stay away after a warning shot (last) Wednesday afternoon. Tabor City Police charged John Long with discharging a firearm in the city limits. Long said Billy Chappell had gone to the Long residence to see his stepdaughter, and had a weapon on his side.
Long told police he fired a shot into the dirt, and Chappell fled. TCPD reported telling Chappell to stay away from the property.
No injuries occurred.
