The county’s sixth road fatality occurred Sunday night near Tabor City.
Laramie Stanley was traveling west on Inman Road, 1.1 miles from Tabor City, when the crash occurred, Sgt. A.M. Pait of the Highway Patrol said.
Stanley’s 2006 GMC truck went off the left side of the highway, recrossed the center line and went off the right, then went off the left side again, Pait said. The truck then struck a mailbox, a ditch and a utility pole before going through a farm field and coming to rest in a resident’s yard.
The wreck was reported at 7:14 p.m. Speed is thought to have played a role in the crash, Pait said. The wreck is still under investigation.
