A teenager was shot in the face Thursday in Whiteville, according to Whiteville Police.
WPD was contacted by hospital security after the juvenile was brought to the Columbus Regional emergency department with a gunshot wound to the face.
The victim was transferred to New Hanover Regional, Lt. Andre Jackson said. Jackson said the weapon may have been a handgun.
The incident was reported just before 9 p.m.
The case is under investigation.
