The staff at the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina hosted a Family Fun Day on May 21 to show the staff just how much they are appreciated.
“Our staff works hard every day to provide an environment of care that promotes health, healing, and hope among the children, youth, and families we serve,” said BGHNC President and CEO Ricky Creech. He said the organization “wouldn’t be what they are without the staff doing their best each and every day.”
The event included inflatables, a dunking booth, sack races, and other games for employees and their families. Campus youth joined in the celebration for a cookout, snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn.
The folks from Peace Baptist Church stepped in to relieve the hardworking men and women of the BGHNC so that one and all could attend Family Fun Day.
“We are especially grateful to the volunteers from Peace Baptist Church for their willingness to come out the staff the event so that all of our staff could enjoy the festivities without being on the job,” said Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator Lisa Brown. “We could not have put this event on without them.”
Local businesses also helped to sponsor the Family Fun Day. Different establishments provided door prizes for each and every employee in attendance.
“We worked hard to have a variety of items that would be appreciated by all of the staff,” said Brown.
The grand prize drawings included a weeklong stay at a condo in Myrtle Beach in September and eight pairs of tickets to the Carolina Panthers home games.
