COVID, Flu, RSV Cases Lead to Visitor Limits at CRHS

Rising numbers of cases of RSV, flu and COVID have caused Columbus Regional to limit visitations immediately.

CRHS Spokesperson Stephanie Miller said that the hospital and adult practices will limit visitors under the age of 13 effective immediately. Affected facilities include Columbus Regional Advanced Primary Care, Advanced Urology in Leland and Whiteville, and Baldwin Woods OB/GYN in Whiteville and Tabor City.

“Those 12 and under will not be allowed to visit at this time,” Miller said in an email. “Children may be permitted to visit hospitalized patients under special circumstances. Parents or guardians will need to contact the manager of the department to make arrangements.”

If childcare is not available, Miller said, children may accompany adults to visits at doctor’s offices.

Other visitation is still normal, Miller said, as long as those coming to the hospital or offices are healthy.

“Anyone experiencing respiratory virus symptoms is encouraged to help control the spread of the illness by not visiting patients in the hospital,” Miller said. Suspicious symptoms include fever, headaches/body aches/pain, cough, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, chills, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

“Help us keep all we can safe and healthy,” Miller said.
