Father, Son Jailed in Assault

A fight over car parts sent a father and son to jail Christmas Eve.

Victor D. Walker, 49, and Justin Lake Walker, 20, were each charged with assault ith a deadly weapon. Justin Walker faces the single charge, and was held under $20,000 secured bond. Victor Walker also faces charges of assault by pointing a gun and possession of a firearm by a felon. Justin Walker listed his address on detention center records as 7108 Princess Ann Rd. Evergreen. Victor Walker’s address was listed as 5438 Gore Trailer Rd., Whiteville.

The victim in the case was Roger Hammons, 29, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office said Hammond and Justin Walker argued over car parts at 5925 Princess Ann Road around 1:30 p.m. Walker allegedly tried to punch Hammond, and the men began fighting. Walker then left the property and came back with Victor Walker.

Justin Walker allegedly grabbed a “metal car part” and another fight began. Victor Walker then allegedly pulled a gun on Hammond, and both Walkers began briefly assaulting Hammond. He was injured on the arm, and head, and was transported by private vehicle to Columbus Regional.
