County detectives are investigating two apparent drive-by shootings that left property damage but no injuries.

On June 28, deputies were called to the 2000 block of Williams Road, Chadbourn at 10:26 p.m. Nine people, including four teenagers, were in the home at the time of the shooting. A Lexus and a Ford sustained around $1,500 damage each.

Deputies collected a number of shell casings in the area.

On July 3, reports said deputies were called to the 700 block of Mollie Road. The home’s three occupants said they had heard shooting the night before, “but didn’t think anything of it.” The damage was discovered the next morning.

The responding deputy noted one small hole in the home, and around $700 damage to a GMC Yukon.

The investigation is continuing in both cases.
