Investigators are awaiting final autopsy results in the February death of a Tabor City area man.

He left home without his telephone or wallet around 3 a.m. A family member reported him missing Feb. 17, and investigators combed the area around Bermuda Bay searching for Johnson.
A family member found his body in a pond several hundred yards from the family home on Feb. 18. The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Johnson’s death was a homicide, but did not release a cause of death.
Chad Flowers, spokesman for the SBI, said the investigation is ongoing, and the autopsy results have not been released.
Johnson was a practicing homosexual and regularly wore women’s clothing, according to the missing person’s report. Photos on Johnson’s social media page show him in heavy makeup, jewelry and female clothing. He identified as female on social media, using the names Ervianna and Baydee.
