Gladys Stanley Thompkins, aged 95, of Chadbourn, passed away peacefully in the evening of October 5, 2023, at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC. She was born on September 7, 1928, to the late James Stanley and Pauline Bellamy. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Thompkins, three sisters, Ruth Jones, Mildred Davis, and Nell Lowery, and four brothers, Hardy Pete Page, William Paul Bellamy, James Edward Bellamy, and James Bellamy, Jr.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Ganus officiating. She will be laid to rest in Belvue Cemetery, located at 1055 Clarendon-Chadbourn Road, Chadbourn, N.C.
Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 10:00 to 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, located at 210 Old Stake Road, Chadbourn, NC.
Gladys is survived by her two loving children, Michelle McLeod and Micah McLeod, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished family and friends.
