September 4, 2002 ~ July 18, 2024 (age 21)
Our beloved son Terry Chandler Britt, my boo, age 21, sadly left this world on July 18, 2024.
He was born on September 4, 2002 in Robeson County to Terry and Nancy Britt. He was a resident of Boardman and attended and graduated West Columbus High School.
If there is anything to be said about our son’s life here on Earth it would be that even through his battle with cancer; all he would say is, “No matter the struggle or pain I face daily I know that my Heavenly Father Jesus Christ is with me always.”
He had many friends and family members who he loved dearly and what brings us all comfort is knowing he is no longer suffering anymore pain.
Chandler’s final words to us all would be give your hearts and souls over to God. There is no other way but through Jesus.
He is preceded in death on his maternal side by his late grandparents Clyde and Betty Haynes, Mayberry and Geneva Strickland, and uncle Esteban Abonza Jr. Preceded on his paternal side by Clevland and Pauline Williamson and William and Eva Jane Britt.
He is survived by his mother and father, Nancy and Terry Britt; his maternal grandparents, Esteban and Teresa Abonza; paternal grandparents, Donnie and Tammy Britt; Godparents, Terry and Teresa Thompson; maternal aunts, Hope Mendez Haynes and Sabrina Haynes Abonza; and nine cousins; paternal grandparents, Donald and Beth Britt.
Even though Chandler was an only child he had two very special cousins, Juan Soto and Hunter Britt, who were raised as brothers with him.
A gathering will be held for all family and friends for Chandler on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted July 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home. Followed by a graveside service at Britt’s Family Cemetery. Officiant Kevin Taylor; along with pallbearers listed as so, Timothy Stroud, Matthew McPherson, Cade Strickland, Hunter Britt, Juan Soto, Michael Troy, Nathan Hunt, and Julian Harvey.
If there is anything to be gained by our son’s death, as he would say, “Momma if one souls is saved by my death it’s well worth it.” So please everyone, look to God for comfort and peace, and most importantly give your hearts over to God today.
Chandler was born on September 4, 2002. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Britt Family Cemetery in Boardman.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home.
