For a limited time, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will telling an extraordinary tale about a brave little boy named Ron in their latest StoryWalk starting Feb. 16-March 12.
“Ron’s Big Mission!” is a book written by Corinne Naden and Rose Blue, and tells the story of how one of America’s first black astronauts challenged the system of segregation in his local library as a child. Visitors will be racing from one page to the next along the tree trail to follow Ron Mcnair’s story and find out if he gets to check out his books.
The adventure begins next to the Whispering Giant statue by the sidewalk, and participants will follow each page to the next on museum grounds. The NCMNS is located at 415 South Madison Street in Whiteville.
