Wildfire conditions are increasing across the area, according to the National Weather Service and the N.C. Forest Service.

Dry, windy conditions are expected to increase in the next 24 hours. combined with low humidity and a surplus of forest fuels, conditions are favorable for wildfires, according to the Forest Service.

Humidity  is expected to drop to 20-30 percent today, and strong southwest winds will speed the drying process. Winds in excess of 15 miles per hour, with gusts of 25, are expected.

No burn ban has been issued, but officials are urging that all non-essential burning be delayed for several days.
