Forest Service crews with aircraft and heavy equipment are working with volunteer fire departments on a fast moving wildfire off Mangum Road in Evergreen.
The fire threatened several structures and vehicles at one point, and has moved into a heavily wooded area.
We have reached out to the N.C. Forest Service for more information.
The entire area is currently at extremely high risk for wildfires due to dry and windy conditions, and the ongoing rainfall deficit.
