A badly-burned body was found in the yard of a Braswell Road home early Tuesday, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
The individual, whose name has not been released, was discovered around 3:45 a.m. when a resident took a dog outside, the report said. The body was found at a home in the 6900 block of Braswell, near Princess Ann Road.
Michele Tatum of the sheriff’s office said there was not a structure fire at the home.
The body has been sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy.
